As I'm entering the third trimester of my pregnancy, things start to get more real and surreal at the same time (you know what I mean?). In June our home will be filled with 4 instead of 3 (including our cat Bobke, of course), and that's just so crazy! Considering how things were going in the beginning, I never thought I'd say this, but it really seems as if time flew by. All of a sudden we're buying onesies and decorating the baby room, not to mention starting to wrap our heads around the fact that we're going to be parents soon. Since this is such a crazy phase in my life, and since I've been receiving a lot of baby-related questions from you guys (I love them!), I thought it'd be fun to do a little mini-series featuring a baby Q&A. If there's anything else you'd love to know, let me know in the comments! :)
BABY Q&A - HOW I'M FEELING
Great! To my great surprise, these days I'm actually pretty good at taking it one day at a time, and not think too much about the challenges that I will most likely come across during the final months of my pregnancy.
FIRST TIME THINGS FELT REAL
The first time the baby looked like a real human on the sonogram was pretty amazing! Also, as you guys told me, as soon as the baby started kicking I swear my heart filled up with joy.
ON MY MIND RIGHT NOW
So many things! I have a crazy busy mind by nature, which has kind of doubled since I got pregnant. I'm hoping that once the baby room is finished, I'll get more peace of mind, because I have been obsessing about that!
MOST SURPRISING THING SO FAR
As I said above, how time has flown by ever since we found out I was pregnant! It truly seems like yesterday.
BIGGEST ROUTINE CHANGE
Going to bed between 9-10pm. And then getting up a gazillion times to go to the bathroom. So not cool. :)
MOST EXCITED FOR
Experiencing the baby's character! I keep on thinking about which traits he'll adopt from us, and what he will be like as a person (much more than what he'll look like).
MOST ANXIOUS ABOUT
Giving birth, for sure. I'm definitely not one of those women who felt super in touch with her basic motherly instincts from day 1, and as it goes, people keep telling me all these not-so-charming birth stories, so yeah, I'm getting pretty nervous about labor...
ps: Stay tuned for part II, featuring my favourite baby purchases, cravings, and the process of picking out a name!
On my nails: FABY Red at Night...
