I’m sure we all have a kind of love/hate relationship with physical shops; even if they offer a well chosen range of clothes and are beautifully decorated, the crowds, fitting rooms, and lines at the cash register can feel so overwhelming. And really, there is no nicer way to spend a rainy afternoon than to kick back in your fave loungewear with a cup of hot tea and a large plate of cookies, while browsing the web for out-of-the-ordinary pieces. I recently came across Byond, an online luxury fashion store that exclusively carries brands that have a minimalistic and fresh feel. It’s always nice when the offered selection is really thought out and all of the pieces are refined and timeless, made from the nicest materials, so that it doesn’t take too long to find something to your liking and you can be sure it will be worth the investment.
For our shoot in Joshua Tree National Park I selected this amazing dress by Eudon Choi Studio. While the color palette and navy stripes feel classic and summery, the assymetrical cut of the dress is definitely quite special, resulting in an exclusive piece that is still very comfy and wearable. As such, this dress felt especially appropriate for our natural surroundings; while the vast dry lands of the Cactus Garden carry out a classic natural feel, they definitely are one of a kind, not comparing to anything I’ve seen before.
I paired the dress with some simple accessories and a lower heel, but it would work just as well with espadrilles or lace-up sandals, for a more laid back look. XO Sofie
