My Paris Fashion Week officially kicked off with the Dior show and I couldn’t think of a better way to start the fashion madness. Imagine this… a private fitting in the Dior headquarters with tons and tons of dresses to try on. Dior sure knows how to make a woman feel like a princess! I picked out this gorgeous colourful dress from their Resort 2015 collection as I fell in love with the silk scarf ( also called Le Carré in French). So breezy and modern… it was definitely love at first sight!
Now let’s talk about the Dior show, which was held on one of the most exclusive places of Paris: the Louvre Cour Carrée. It was such an extraordinary place, almost like a golden-mirrored sheet reflecting a sunny Parisian afternoon. Clean lines were the order of the day – egg shaped skirts, embroidered jumpsuits, high necklines, bright hued sleeveless jackets,… All these pieces had a certain power to them. I love the way that Raf Simons looks backwards to move forward, which translates into a mix of history (the 18th century French royal court attire) with the current modernism. The models were bare-faced, which looked incredible fresh with the vintage nightgowns (white cotton shirtdresses embellished with broderie anglaise)… Simple and pure but oh so gorgeous! “The past seen through Raf Simons’ futuristic eyes”, there is no better way to describe this amazing collection.
