Sexy, animalistic and asymmetrical were the key themes running through the Dior RTW FW15 show on Friday. Leopard and zebra print were given an abstract, psychedelic twist in contrasting teal and burgundy or baby blue and tan, creating a futuristic camouflage. Fur mini-dresses in expected hues of moss and burnt orange and printed jumpsuits were the stand-out pieces of the collection but there was also many classic pieces in the collection – masculine tailoring in the form of double breasted suits, oversized long coats in black and grey as well as tomato red and army green.
I loved the bright green coats – perhaps this will be the it-colour coat for this winter in the same way the pink coat dominated winter 2013? One thing’s for sure – we’ll be seeing a lot of these vinyl boots later in the year. Their impact was even reaffirmed by the appropriate song ‘Hot on the Heels of Love’ by Throbbing Gristle.
Now let's tak about my look. I was wearing this amazing dress by Dior from their spring summer collection... it was one of my favourite pieces when I saw it on the runway in september! My make-up for the show was all about glowy skin with bright lips ( diorific 012 Hollywood- the perfect red color!) and a black eyeliner. Very simpel but classy!
Oh, and I have to tell you a funny story....After the show Diane von Furstenberg approached me and said her production team from a TV show she’s working on told her to walk next to me because I was the best dressed guest. Can you imagine this??! Diane is one of my idols as she’s such a strong-headed business woman with an intuitive sense of style and down-to-earth personality so this was a huge compliment. We took silly selfies and were caught in action by The New York Times – definitely one of the most surreal moments of my life!
What did you think of the show? XO Sofie
