HOW TO GET THAT FAUX FUR TREND JUST RIGHT

The weather's been very dreary here in Belgium during the past couple of weeks, so in an effort to keep me (us!) warm, I've been reaching for extra cosy pieces. While I have to admit I'm really starting to long for sunny days and breezy dresses, I just never get tired of cuddly materials. And my no. 1 fave trend in that department? Faux fur, of course! There are so many ways to incorporate it into your outfit - and yes, without looking like a life-size teddy bear...

1 / GO WITH 1 FURRY MAIN PIECE + 1 ACCESSORY

The key to getting your faux fur pieces to look chique instead of bulky or too cutesy is simple: don't overdo it. I like to go with 1 main piece (such as this nude belted coat) and then add a furry accessory for a fun touch (such as these red furry sneakers or a fluffy keychain).

2 / LIGHTEN THE MOOD WITH POPPY SHADES

Since faux fur tends to look a bit heavy, you want to add some bright colours to the mix (also the perfect remedy for those dark Winter days, remember?). I added a hot red light-weight knit, and matching pattern bag and manicure. An extra tip to make your faux fur piece a little less heavy is to leave it open instead of wrapping yourself up (no matter how tempting!).

3 / PAIR WITH RELAXED PIECES

The last challenge that comes with faux fur pieces is a slightly old-fashioned vibe, which can be overcome super easily: just pair them with a super casual piece, such as track pants, to accomplish that perfect outfit that feels as good as it looks!

This is one of my favorite trends right now! The little furry pom-poms are my favorite (a pair of these sneakers are at the top of my wishlist!). Thanks for sharing how to incorporate the trend stylishly.
