YES, it's finally happening: my very first post-baby denim shoot is here! :) You guys know that I was very sad to give up my favourite pairs of jeans during the (literally) biggest part of my pregnancy, so I was super excited to fit into this cropped pair again. We all know how versatile denim is and I'm sure it's one of the main reasons for its immense popularity. At the same time, however, it can easily get a bit boring too, ending up with the same denim-&-tee combo over and over again. But rest assure, spicing up your denim for Summer only takes 3 simple tricks, for you to adopt right now!

1 / GO INDIGO

The no. 1 colour for your denim this Summer is indigo! It's without a doubt the freshest shade of blue out there, and despite being bright it's surprisingly complementary. That's right, indigo pairs well with just about any colour out there, and simultaneously makes every tricky cut (looking at you, mom jeans!) appear that more flattering. That's a win/win situation right there!

2 / ADD A FLOWY PRINTED MAXI COAT

And since indigo pairs well with everything, this is the time to go a little crazy print-wise. And if you ever want something to not look boring, what do you add? Animal prints, of course! A super long printed maxi coat is just perfect to add some playfulness to your jeans. Just make sure to go with a well made flowy version that's unmistakably sophisticated, and all will be well.

3 / FINISH WITH POPPY FOOTWEAR

Babouche loafers are one of this Summer's biggest footwear trends, and they're just the perfect way to complete this look and spice up your denim (and structured classic black bag). Pointy-toe loafers are what you're looking for if you want to create a slimming effect, especially in combination with cropped jeans. So easy!

What's your favourite way to spice up your denim for Summer? Any tricks I should try out soon?
