Another post from beautiful Tokyo!! I was sooo excited to be there, I can't even say. :) Before Gabriel was born I made a little mental list of all the places that I wanted to visit with him before his first birthday, and Tokyo was in my top-3! (who remembers our first trip 2 years ago?) So after Paris, Barcelona and Marrakech, our boy now has a new fancy stamp on his passport before his first birthday. :)

I'll be sharing my tips for traveling to far destinations with a baby soon, but for now, I'm already showing a super fun activity to do in Tokyo with a baby: visiting the Nakameguro river!

The cherry blossom season (or sakura) is of course one of the busiest periods to visit Tokyo, but I really didn't want to miss out on it. It's so stressful to try to predict when the cherry blossoms will be popping up in the city! They make their way through Japan from the end of March on, and usually hit Tokyo during the last week of March and first week of April (that's only 2 weeks!). But since it mostly depends on the temperature during each specific year, it can vary a bit from year to year. So when a friend from Tokyo told us that they were starting to come down a few days before we arrived I was totally freaking out! :) But we lucked out in the end, because there were still so many delicious pink blossoms everywhere we went.

The Nakameguro river area is one of the prettiest places in Tokyo to enjoy the cherry blossoms, so be prepared to face big crowds. :) Since Gabriel LOVES to be around people I knew this wasn't going to be a problem. And don't the little pink lanterns make for the cutest backdrop? So perfect to go with our twinning kimonos. :) His little (jetlagged) eyes were beaming the entire time. Kind of the perfect first-day-activity!

Have you visited Tokyo recently? Did you catch the cherry blossoms in time? :)

Stay tuned for more Tokyo hotspots soon!
