It's no secret that I'm a big foodie, so - just as in London - in between all my fashion related activities during NYFW, I made sure to take some time to enjoy the city's best and most decadent food. If you're looking to experience the best affordable NYC-exclusive treats (that are not pretzels, because man, they may look good but taste pretty awful :)), here are my 4 must-tries:

Açaï bowls are obviously super happening right now, and as a frequent visitor of their country of origins Brazil, I've been familiar with them for a while now. However, it wasn't until I tried one in NYC that I considered them as the perfect nutritious breakfast (in my experience, the Brazilian version is much sweeter than the American one, so I always thought of them as dessert). I looooved all of the options at Juice Generation (the Aloha with pineapple and Almond Butter Bliss with coconut were my faves), and the Super Greens bowl at Nomo Soho kept me full until noon. Wish all tasty foods were this healthy! :)

Popsicles were basically all I was craving during the super hot days of this NYFW edition, and although that seems so far away now, I'm basically up for the delicious People's Pops' popsicles year-round. They only have all-natural seasonally inspired flavours and are handmade in Brooklyn. Be sure to try the watermelon/mint and berries/lime pops, when you're in the mood for some healthy refreshments!

One of the most innovative affordable spots in NYC is By Chloé. This vegan restaurant has the most genius menu, including quinoa tacos and pesto meatballs - all super tasty and good for you. My personal fave are their famous sweet potato fries, a fun and nutritious twist on the classic French fries. Also, be sure to check out their entirely to sweets dedicated shop next door, because their cinnamon espresso chocolate chip cookies are to die for!

If you're looking for the most instagrammable food out there, every single thing that the Big Gay Ice Cream serves is it. This quirky all-American company opened its first shop in NYC a couple of years ago, after the mind-blowing success of its namesake truck and ice cream sandwiches. I personally totally lost it when I saw their menu (Nutella lined cones with sea salt! Key lime curd & crushed graham crackers!), and it took me forever to decide on my favourite: milky chocolate soft-serve ice cream topped with marshmallows & toasted almonds. Yassss!

What are your all-time favourite indulgences abroad? Anything I have to try out on my next trips? :)
