I've always been a huge fan of Victoria Beckham's sophisticated designs, so I was super excited to be attending her show here in NYC. And it didn't disappoint! Here are my 5 highlights:
You guys, I wasn't cool at all about my front row view, and that had everything to do with the super charming David Beckham. He was so nice to talk to, and proud of his wife's accomplishments. 100% star struck! :)
This one might need an exclamation point too, because hello! VB wearing flats - that's almost breaking news in the fashion world. She allegedly wanted to design a Summer boot that's flattering for everyone, but still comfy enough to run around in. And when she came to greet the audience, in loose trousers and flat sandals, she looked more beautiful and at ease with herself than ever.
3. GIRL BOSS
I really admire Victoria's path, from Spice Girl to a deeply appreciated high fashion designer: that's quite an accomplishment in an industry that's VERY judgmental and fast-paced. And I particularly loved her spin on a classic women's suit, with a sexy bra peaking from underneath. Run the world much!
I find that VB always pays special attention to the fabrics she uses, and this collection was no exception. In line with the current velvet trend, this rich material was used throughout, coordinating nicely with the majestic cool venue.
5. POPPY EYES
The VB beauty look, as a result of her recent collab with Estée Lauder, was centred around a poppy green & blue smokey eye, that's apparently pretty easy to recreate at home. Was this the perfect show, or what?
