Sooo guess what? My Brazilian parents-in-law have been wearing Winter coats during their first week here in Belgium. Coming from 30+ degrees, they're completely amazed with how we survive our Summer! :) Luckily, our little man has been a real treat these past couple of days (thanks SO much for all of your tips on how to have him sleep a bit more at night!), smiling and giggling and waving his little arms around like crazy. And I just cannot get over how big he has gotten! He's seriously growing as we're watching him. :) Looking so much forward to another weekend of being a tourist in my beautiful hometown Antwerp, 'cause it takes more than a little cold or rain to stop us from enjoying being outside, right? (will definitely be visiting this hotspot for breakfast, and this one for a little afternoon treat!) Meanwhile, here's this week's round-up to keep you warm & inspired throughout: the cutest baby shower idea that you MUST adopt if you're currently planning one, a seriously gorgeous AW17 campaign that makes Fall look so much more appealing, and the 1 yummy recipe to try for better skin & hair. Hope everyone will have a friends-&-family filled weekend!
While I consciously didn't have a babyshower myself (we felt like our babymoon was the perfect celebration of our soon-to-come babe), the '50s-themed babyshower that Serena Williams threw this week almost makes me regret my decision. It's just such a sweet idea, and of course it didn't hurt that the likes of Ciara, Kelly Rowland and Eva Longoria dusted off their prettiest poppy '50s dresses to come liven up the party. And though it was probably mostly meant as a costume, I secretly loved Kelly Rowland's midi skirt plus polka dot top and head scarf so much! O, and if you're looking for more babyshower inspo: who doesn't remember Kim K.'s cosy pj's party - Yeezy sneakers & perfectly groomed hair optional. Such fun!
Ever since I was little, the dropping of the new fashion campaigns was something I was looking forward to so much at the beginning of every new season. And even though lots has changed since then (hello, Internet!), flipping through magazines and discovering the latest jaw-droppingly beautiful high-fashion campaigns is still one of my favourite things to do on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Some of them even stick with you, linger in you head, and make you feel happy & inspired every time you think about them. This Miu Miu AW17 campaign is definitely one of those, featuring the cosiest faux fur coats in the prettiest rainbow colours, and dreamy maxi dresses, all with a gorgeous lush natural backdrop. It just makes you long for that seasonal click that's about to happen, don't you think? :)
Since I'm pretty much obsessed with anything food- and skincare-related, when both come together, it's a little party in my head. :) And guess what: this tasty dish of lemony garlic mushrooms on a bed of couscous is actually great for your skin AND hair! How so? First, it's in the mushrooms, because as it turns out, especially portobello mushrooms are super high in vitamin D that stimulates hair follicle growth and prevents hair loss (so also great for all the new mama's out there!). And then there's the garlic, of course. This smelly buddy contains allicin, one of the most powerful antioxidants out there, with immense anti-inflammatory properties (which is great for preventing break-outs). Now doesn't that just sound like the best deal on the planet?
