Collaborating with iconic fashion Houses such as Dior are always a nice reminder of why I love doing what I do. And when I was invited a little while ago to go jasmine picking in Grasse to celebrate Dior's J'Adore L'Or fragrance, I was beyond excited. Because apart from being surrounded by the prettiest scenery and some of my favourite people, I was given the opportunity to create my very own perfume. As someone who's naturally obsessed with fragrances, this truly sounded like a dream come true, and you guys, I was not disappointed!
The jasmine fields in Grasse are about as perfect & dreamy as they get. And since I'm always at my happiest when I'm surrounded by pure natural beauty, I had a pretty ecstatic expression on my face throughout the entire experience. :) There was something about the combo of vast fields, fresh air, and bloomy scents that had such a calming effect on me, and I honestly could've stayed in the fields for waaaay longer...
But when it's time to meet up with one of the most amazing Dior fragrance's experts, François Demachy, you don't think twice of course! :) What better way is there to understand the meticulous process of creating a scent than to do it yourself, right? By combining some of my favourite notes of fresh rose petals, sultry oriental tones, and delicate jasmine flowers, I created my own J'Adore L'Or inspired 'Sofie' fragrance. As the perfectionist that I am, it took me an embarrassing long time to get it exactly right (haha), but I was so happy with how it turned out!
The rest of the trip was mostly about enjoying our breathtaking surroundings. From the movie-like setting of the Hotel Château Saint-Martin & Spa to enjoying the best food (al fresco!) at the Château de la Colle Noire (Christian Dior's former residence!): it was the most gracious way to say goodbye to Summer.
Thanks so much for this amazing experience, Dior! I've been wearing my J'Adore L'Or Sofie perfume non-stop! :)
