This past week we had our first stretch of balmy sunny days, and it made me so excited for many more of those days in my beautiful city of Antwerp! It goes without saying that these days are all about our baby countdown (thanks so much for your many sweet reactions to this vulnerable picture!), and I hope all the mother figures out there are ready to celebrate their awesomeness on Sunday (right this way if you're still on the hunt for the perfect Mother's Day present!). Apart from my pretty hometown, this week's round-up is all about flowy dresses - the ridiculously affordable bridesmaid appropriate kind, and the ones that dominated Dior's breathtaking Cruise 2018 collection. Because yes, let's endlessly celebrate the one piece of clothing that still fits me these days... :) Have a good one, everyone!
I'm always excited when affordable brands launch wedding-related pieces (proof and proof), so when & Other Stories presented its gorgeous laid-back wedding collection, my heart made a little jump. The casual pieces are ideal for a relaxed wedding (which is what we all dream about, right?), and I particularly like these long ruffled yellow and coral off-the-shoulder bridesmaids dresses, that are both 100% dance-proof. Pair with undone hair, minimal make-up, and statement earrings, and it'll be kinda hard not to steal the bride's thunder!
And talking about beautiful dresses: they were plentiful at Dior's CC 2018 show, presented in a profound western-inspired setting. As per usual, the backdrop was jaw dropping, in the middle of the vast LA desert, with hot air balloons dancing in the wind and the sun setting behind the mountains. The models looked chique and relaxed, in long embroidered dresses, tule-plus-knitwear ensembles, heavy boots, simple slip-on sandals, and brimmed hats. Such a refreshing change from the typical LA boho styling! Start dusting off your cowboy boots, because a major western trend is on the horizon...
I sometimes forget how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful historic city as Antwerp, but luckily, this amazing mini city guide by Cereal Magazine that caught my eye this week was there to remind me! It lists some of my favourite spots in the city, from the gorgeous concept store Graanmarkt 13 to the MoMu fashion museum (and the accompanying Academy that has a seriously impressive list of alumni, such as Dries Van Noten and the brothers Gvasalia!) and Hotel Julien, where we actually shot this campaign. Can't wait to explore more of my hometown this Summer!
