This week has been a particularly good one, since Marcio & I took a little trip to sunny France for a much needed babymoon. We've been looking forward to escaping with just the 2 of us for a long time, and it couldn't have been a more relaxing stay, with sunny vineyard walks, long decadent brunches (ideal for soothing my pregnancy cravings!), and even longer spa sessions and pool swims. Can't wait to share more details with you next week, but for now, these are the 3 other things that made me happy this week: a fresh spin on last season's off-the-shoulder trend, Eastern inspired accessories (so mysterious!), and the best facial oils for oily skin. Have a good one, everyone!

off-the-shoulder trend

It's no secret I was a huge fan of last Summer's off-the-shoulder trend, and I'll definitely embrace this season's updated version, that takes it to the next level. That's right, the new off-the-shoulder goes all the way down to your elbows, placing the focus on your shoulders and collarbone (which makes it super flattering!). I adored Alexa Chung's dress pictured above, and have my eye on this more structured version by Talie NK and the relaxed ruffled version by Wandering. So cute, right?

Eastern accessories

Eastern accessories

I'm always looking for new ways to add something unexpected to my outfits, and this season's Eastern inspired accessories are just perfect for that. If last Spring was all about Japan (remember this pretty floral jacket?), this year it's all about the Middle East! Gucci's taking the lead with cute turban head pieces (I also love the metallic version!), but I'm equally obsessed with these Pierre Hardy patterned loafers, and Uterqüe's delicately finished waist belt. If you find it a bit intimidating to style a turban, you might want to considering incorporating it into a casual festival look, with a simple black top, rounded sunnies, and a miniature backpack. So chic and a little bit mysterious!

facial oils for oily skin

As someone with dry skin, I've been relying on moisturising facial oils for a while now, but I often get questions about whether or not they're also suitable for oily skin types. And the answer is: yes! I can totally imagine it sounds a bit contradictory to add more oil to oily skin (especially since your skin is likely a bit more oily now that we've transitioned into Spring), but the truth is that if you use a version with the right ingredients it will balance out your skin and stop it from producing more oil. My favourites include the In Fiore Calme Complexe face oil concentré, Susanne Kaufmann balancing face oil, Dr. Hauschka clarifying day oil, and Herbivore Lapis balancing oil - which are all not bad to look at either!
