This past week has been a pretty exhausting one at Casa Bastos, with our active little man leaving us with very little sleep and full-on zombie modes. :) Needless to say, I'm looking much forward to a weekend of soaking up the sun (pretty please, Belgium?), catching up with my girlfriends, and some casual flower shopping. Meanwhile, there's of course this week's round-up of things that made me feel happy & inspired: another super exciting Off-White collab that's delightful and affordable (!), this Summer's hottest beauty kit hypes, and the coolest way to do the t-shirt tuck right now. Have a good one, everyone!
Good news! After super successful collabs with Levi's and Nike, Off-White's legendary frontman, Virgil Abloh, has now teamed up with the affordable eyewear brand Warby Parker (we're obviously fans, remember?). The result is a 3-piece structured sunnies collection, with boxy black shades in 3 different sizes: small for those who want to embrace the futuristic sunnies trend, medium for a more classic vibe, and large to go all the way Hollywood. The first part of this limited collection sold out before you could say Off-White (big surprise), but a restock is coming soon, so keep your eyes out if you want to snag your favourite pair!
Okay okay, we get it: everything that means something in beauty land is part of a kit now - and yes, we secretly like them all. From Kylie Jenner's constantly reinvented lip kits, to sister Kim's recently launched contour kits and make-up artist Pat McGrath's Skin Fetish and Metalmorphosis kits, they all have a couple things in common: they promise to deliver an all-round beauty result that takes nothing more than the kit's products (perfectly full lips, a face that plays with shadow & light like a pro, and a dewy & ethereal beauty look that was first spotted on the runways), seriously cute packaging, and an instant must-have appeal that makes them sell out in a heartbeat. Can't wait to try Pat's newly launched sequin-filled beauty bags first!
Every timeless styling trick that's tomboy and laid-back has my vote, so this Summer's no. 1 way to do the casual t-shirt tuck is right up my alley. It obviously all starts from finding the right tee, preferably a lightly coloured one (think white or beige) with a vintage vibe and boxy oversized cut. Then take the tomboy vibe to the next level by tucking it into high-waisted masculine trousers: think long white linen shorts or a black wide-legged version. Needless to say, the accessories are key: a vintage belt, miniature straw bag, speedy sunnies or a simple golden necklace will add just about enough elegance to upgrade your entire look. Are you in?
